basically just assume im a complete car dummy i bought a set of 4stud alloys for my corsa and when i tried to fit them the studs didnt match up to the holes on the car where the bolts should go
im very confused as i assumed 4 stud alloys just go straight onto a 4 stud wheel
is ther any way i around this?
iv heard about an adaptor that changes the bolt layout so they can fit

Adapters are not a good idea. They change the offset of the wheels too much, where your wheels are much further out than the should be.
The best move is to get sell or return those wheels, and get wheels with the correct bolt pattern.
The wheels have 4 studs, but the distance between the studs can be different. Measure the distance between two studs (center of stud to center of stud) to be sure you are buying the correct wheels
