Can washing an AEM filter give you idle troubles?
I have had an AEM brute force cold air intake (the dry/ no oil type) on my '99 Tacoma for about six months now and have had excelent results with it until recently. I washed it yesterday following the company's online instructions (except I used a drop of dish soap instead of the factory solution. I let it dry out all night, but come morning it was still a little damp. I had to go though, so I threw it on and left. It drove pretty crappy as you might expect, underpowered with a slight stutter around 2500 RPM. I hoped the filter would dry out and fix the problem when I had to drive it home eight hours later. Now the engine idles funny (its a little higher at idle) and it'll rev up and down (between about 1200 and 1800 RPM) when I put the clutch in and coast. The filter is dry to the touch now and the truck seems to have its power back, but it is still idling funny. Anyone know what the problem might be? Or is it most likely unrelated and just coincidental?
my answer go to auto repair shop maybe there other problem of your car,be the expert do that..
