radiator cold after bleeding?
Recently fiited replacement radiator, had a leak so took it off and used new fittings, put it back and after draining air and refilling combi system and doing all the other raditators it is still cold. So closed the thermostat and removed connection on thermostat end and drained the radiator again, seemed to be some heat coming back through the outlet end but as the system drained this stopped. That was fine, then connected back up and turned on system etc. As i drained the new air from the system the radiator filled with hot water and hey presto, but then it cooled and now back to square one again. The pipes are hot after the thermostat all the way into the radiator but then cold and the outlet is cold.please help
Remove thermostat knob leaving metal pipe section in place. Using a RUBBER mallet gently tap the side of the metal section of the thermostat a couple of times.
This should unstick the thermostat valve.
DO NOT hit the thermostat on the pin end JUST on the side!!
If you are gentle this should do the trick.
What ever you do do not use to much force when you give it a tap.
