i wanna make my own intake cuz the AEM,K&N are too expensive....will the spectre air intake pipe(from Shuck's) work on the weird looking intake manifold on the d16y7???wat adapter would i need to get??90degree angle??more??THNKX
The reason they cost more is because THEY WORK! the money just doesn't pay for the part it pays for the thousands of hours of research and development for that part. Yeah you can make one, but 99% chance it will make LESS power than you already have. I'm guessing you have the downdraft throttlebody? Just spend the money and get the good stuff. Look not to sound mean, but an intake from AEM, or K&N is only going to give you about 2-3 more HP at the higher end of the RPM range. The LX has a pitiful excuse for a motor it only makes 93 HP at the front wheels in PRISTINE condition.
