I have a 1977 camaro Its a 350 4-bolt main target master block that has been bored .060 over, it has aluminum flat top pistons, double hump heads ( that have had the valves machined from 1.50 to 1.60), roller rockers, chromaili push rods, a pretty radical cam and double roller chain, all in all its pushing about 400 horse. Its paired with a 700r4 that has been rebuilt with all new and added race clutches, corvette servo, trans go shift kit. The rear axle is a 12 bolt with 3.43 and a trac-lock. If i had a set of M/T's how much horse power would i need to actually get my front wheels off the ground at all?
Thats where kids now days have issues. You cant build a car with just a motor. If a show is what you are wanting to put on then look more into gears. If you lower the gear you can pull the wheels with a 4 cyl. also they sell suspension travel limiting devices which replaces your front shock. when the front starts to come up the upper control are pulls up on your lower control arm causing the wheels to come off the ground easier. Just remember with no front wheels on the ground you can not steer. I suggest you be an experienced driver to try this.
