i saw a '69 nova yesterday?
instead of having a radiator mount bracket and a fan shroud on it, it had a radiator mount bracket that doubled as a shroud. it was one piece. it held the radiator in place and was long and round on one end to cover the fan and act as a shroud. what year, make and model did that shroud come off of, because i dont think it came from a nova. thanks
this was metal. flat over the radiator, then at flared toward the motor and ended roundcovering the fan. not really a fan shroud but looked like it did a little bit.
Actually, it was quite common on most Chevys from the 60s and into the 90s too, on cars that still used the engine driven cooling fans, usually guaranteed on V8s, and later on V6s.
You're right though, for some reason Chevy didn't think they were necessary on cars that came with the straight 6, like the Nova. More than likely it was because the fan was like within 2 inches of the radiator fins on those cars...
