i have a suzuki fz50 50cc 1980. i would like to install a high flow air filter but know nothing about them. can someone give me a brief "for dummies" explaination? i know what they do, just dont know about the different sizes, what size i need, or can use. i came across a forum and someone did this to his fa50, just wondering if someone can convert what he did to "dummy talk"
"For the Fa50 air cleaner I used the stock air elbow and stuck a PVC pipe coupler in the end where the air box would go and cut 8 slots in the exposed side so it could be clamped down over a 1" crank case breather I bought from Kragen auto for about $10.

This will flow more DIRT along with the additional air and kill that tiny little motor in short order. It may also lean out the mixture enough to hole the piston or burn through a ring. There is little you can do to a 50cc or smaller motor to increase performance without severely shortening it's life expectancy.
