How much horsepower will my sbc 350 put out?
1986 motor. stock pistons, cam, crank, bottom end. stock compression.
heads off of a 77 chevy. ported, polished, replaced seals and lapped valves. cleaned up. cleaned rocker arms, ect.
terminator flowtech headers. long tube. 3 inch dual exhaust all the way back. aluminum hihgrise intake. edlebrock performer rpm. spacer and holley 650 cfm 4 barrel spreadbore carb. new distributor with 8 mm wires. nascar performer sparkplugs and wires. new racing fan. (not flex fan). 4.11 posi. new 20 inch breather. all A/C and emmisions gone.
About 195-215, depending on the port job. 882 heads are the biggest "turd" head out there. The stock 9.3:1 compression is now closer to 8.7:1, doing nothing for power, but helping emissions and economy. The 3 inch duals are killing the flow velocity, and therefore scavenge. No torque until later off idle. The 650 is too big; try a 500 cfm 2-bbl. and get an x-pipe on it with 2 inch duals to get closer to 250 horses.
