i just got a 2001 Monte Carlo SS and im just wondering why my low tire pressure light is always on when i start the car, i made the tire pressure in all of the tires 35 pounds and the light is only supposed to come one when one of the tires is about 12 pounds lower than all of the others. another question is, would it be worth putting a k&n cold air intake on my SS? its like $300 so i just want to see if it would do me any good getting one.
George the 2001 monte carlo ss has the low tire warning system tied into the RDS radio.The RDS radio is used to reset the low tire warning and also the change oil soon lamp and also lots of other functions.The RDS radio is also used to program your key less entry remotes.If you do not have the owners manual any chevrolet dealers service dept will give you a copy from AllData on how to use the RDS radio and all its functions.After the low tire warning lamp comes on its nessary to reset through the radio after you correct the tire pressure.The cold air intake system is smoke and mirrors lots of money and no real benefit.Best of luck.
