some plant raising questions in my 10 gallon?
so recently i converted my 10 gallon from a ram breeder to a planted tank, the water is cycled and the temp is about 80 degree and i have 2 rams in their, i'm not sure how much lighting i have the hood says 50 but the bulbs i got from the kit broke so i replaced em with 2 11 watt bulbs
so the hood is 50 watt and the bulbs are 11 watt so how many watts per gallons do i have? i'm trying to raise some plants that grow i don't care about speed (it would be nice if i had one big bush of a plant) i currently have one nana anubias in the tank i'm guessing since it looks like that type, can i keep amazon sword plants i love those. my ph is like 7.4 i think but wouldn't the plants help lower that i don't want any exotic species cause i'm only buying my plants from petsmart they are the closest to my house
Dont listen to the guy above, you have over 2 watts per gallon that should be fine for a 10g tank given that it wont be that deep, if you up the lights any further you will have to start adding Co2 and lots of nutrients.
As another plant option you could go with a grassy plant as stated above but they will only grow a couple of inches tall but if you want something bigger then a cryptocoryne or some java fern would be ok.
A word of caution I am not sure how running the 2 x 11w through a 50w head will affect the 11w out put, there could be a danger of the bulbs exploding so you may want to do some research on that
