Delete Exhaust Test
Is it legal to cut off the resonator on the exhuast system?

Is it legal to delete (cut and weld in a straight pipe) where the resonator was in the exhaust system and WILL IT EFFECT EMISSION tests? The resonator only muffles the sound (from what I'm told) and it should not have an impact on the emission tests but nobody knows for sure that I've asked so I'm turning to you guys. Help please! I don't want to cut it off and have problems with Emissions :(

Yes it is legal as long as you never start the engine. It will not "EFFECT" the emissions test. It will AFFECT the emissions test. Depending on where you live [you don't seem to know] You may fail for altered exhaust system or noise levels. Depends on where you are. Look around for a sign or ask a nice policeman to tell you where you live. Run along now.
