There's a few different options for launching a car on the 1320, and it mostly depends on what sort of car you're talking about. Usually for a muscle car the best option is to gradually press the throttle down to get minimum wheelspin. If you plant it and you lose traction, let off the throttle a bit to regain grip and then - again, gradually - put your foot to the floor. Hopefully, unless it's got a hell of a lot of power under the bonnet, the wheelspin will be almost non-existent when you get to 2nd gear.
That's just what I've been taught anyway and it's worked well, but it also may depend on your driving style. Play around a bit, perhaps even get someone to time your runs and see what method is best.
