Why chains on the Front tires of my /Rav4 AWD?
in more than one place in my Rav4 manual it says to put the tire chains on the FRONT tires. Since it is AWD I would have assumed the rear tires would have been better for control (ie. putting the braking drag behind the center if gravity. Why do they recommend putting the chains on the front?
Your RAV4 also has ABS. Put the chains on the front for traction during steering as well as stopping. Personally, I would have chains on all 4 drive wheels.
Are you sure your RAV is 4WD?
