3.5 briggs &stratton no throttle control carb sits on fuel tank sump style running rpm fluctuates while mowing back and forth need remedy for this fix
This engine uses a easy to get at and simple wind vane governor..... uses the air off the flywheel to move a flap, that opens or closes the butterfly in the carb. The carbs are not the problem..... I have found these plastic carbs VERY reliable and cheap to fix..... the diapragm and gasket shouldn't run no more then 3 bucks.... make sure not to fold em. But take the tank and carb assembly off (one big bolt at the carb, nother small one at the front. And take the carb off and clean the tank out and spray the carb out with carb cleaner and compressed air if you have it, very good a few times through any and all holes.... replace the diapragm and gasket (make sure to get them back right!) also pay attention to the fuel pickup tube and make sure the screen mesh isn't clogged at the bottom. The two (might be old enough and have only one) are cheap and simple to replace and do wear out, good idea to go ahead and replace these also.
