Am I the only one losing interest in NASCAR?
The rain delays are getting to be ridicolous for one. I don't get TNT for two. More laws and rules for three. Shorten the damn races so we can actually stay awake for the whole race and not use so much fuel that it affects what I pay at the pump. Lower the damn ticket prices so I can afford to go to a race. Quit paying drivers and crew members so much money. It's all becoming too political and I'm starting too hate it. NASCAR fan 15 years and dying off.
I agree some aspects of NASCAR have begun to cross the line of annoyance however......ticket prices are lower than most football ticket prices.. LOWES MS Cheapest $19.99 for OCT race isnt to bad (research it)..... the fuel they use is quite different than what we run in our pickup trucks.. talk to the man sitting behind the desk in his suit and tie thats signing the laws and bills that pass.. ...NASCAR doesnt affect fuel prices,.... ALSO talk to the man about regulating salaries outside of NASCAR (BIG BUSINESS... thats what hurting our economy)....the length of the races have , for the most part, been around and havent really changed....and allow it to be quite interesting when fuel and tires become an issue and strategy outperforms speed. And although race day coverage on TNT lacks "Digger-nation" - the coverage seems to resemble the screen technology of 1985 and the commentators have no idea whats going on half the time.... be happy we get to even see it on TV.... its been that way for a while... (P.S to combat your distraught feelings with NASCAR buy a bigger TV, surround sound and a new recliner)
Now to side with your "political" issue with NASCAR... which is more ethical than political..... I believe one of the biggest mistakes NASCAR has made and will continue to make is trying to take NASCAR to the world..... it began here, it needs to stay here.... we do not need foriegn auto makers... nor do we need tracks in other countries. With that being said.... ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY and it doesnt really matter what us die hard fans believe or think.... the bottom line is.... try and see past the political aspect of the sport... although hard to do... and remember that... ON SUNDAY AFTERNOONS, THERES NOTHING BETTER THAN POPPIN A TOP ON A COLD BEER, TIPPIN THE PIZZA DELIVERY AND SETTLIN IN FOR A LONG, LOUD FIGHT TO THE CHECKERED FLAG.... LONG LIVE GM, DODGE AND FORD... AS LONG AS IT ISNT A TOYOTA AND A BUSCH IN VICTORY LANE.. NO COMPLAINTS HERE!
(P.S for all you Busch fans... that boy can drive a car, no foolin.... I just dont like him. But he's a heck of a racer!)
