Why is Briggs & Stratton 3.75 hp sprint pushmower revs cycling?
I have a 1992-1994 Briggs & Stratton 3.75 hp pushmower that the revs are cycling up and down (every 2 seconds) after about a minute of starting. I've cleaned/replaced air filter, changed spark plug, removed carbon deposits from cyclinder head and replaced head gasket. Any ideas?
Most likely it is the carburetor. Your engine has a diaphram type carburetor and it needs to be cleaned and a rebuild kit installed. The engine is starving for fuel and the governor is keeping it running. That is the cause of the rpm changes.
