I bought a 97 Civic. Did Gunk motor flush Changed oil with Synthetic now it is leaking badly. What can I do to stop the leak or at least slow the leak to where it was prior to the oil change ? I only paid 1000 dollars for the car I do not want to spend the money to replace main seals. I did this Oil change with Another Honda civic, Acura Integra and a Toyota Lancruiser and had no problems.
Flushing an engine is not a good idea. If you do regular oil changes, the detergent in the oil will gently clean the engine. As far as the leak, more than likely you got the drain plug cross threaded or the oil filter is loose or not installed correctly. Did you make sure the old oil filter gasket came off with the old filter?
