Is Danica Patrick the reluctant new face of women in sports?
Danica Patrick (who is signed with Republican-owned Andretti Green Racing) has been in the news more than any other female sports figure this year.
She is sponsored by GoDaddy.com (a website hosting company) and has little to say about her role as a woman in sports... she oftens shys away from discussing her impact on feminism and prefers to just talk about the racing itself.
Team owner Michael Andretti refers to her position as a woman winning races as "the monkey that was on her back" prior to her first Indycar win.
Yahoo news recently posted headlines indicating that Patrick was "emotional" and "angry" and caused a "scene"...
Could these kinds of headlines make the racer feel like hiding under her helmet?
