Air Filter on a go kart!?!?
Hi!
I am currently working on fixing up a go cart. However, the air filter is covered in engine oil. Will it still work or do I need to get a new air filter?

You didn't specify if the air Filter has a replaceable paper filter or is the oil bath type......Do not operate the engine with no filter at all,,,,will suck sand, dirt, grass, and debris into the carb, and engine.......If it has the paper filter, remove it, shake the dust out. hold it in front of a light bulb, such as a garage work light.... If you can't see the light thru the paper filter.....replace it....... Clean all the oil off the filter housing that holds the paper filter with kerosene or WD-40....dry well...replace the paper filter.... If it is the old oil sump filter, remove the top and cup....pour out the dirty oil,,,wash the cup and top in kerosene, WD-40 or solvent.....dry well, fill the cup up to the fill line with new motor oil.....replace cup and top...on the engine...
