what transmission can handle a v6 160+ hp but be small enough to fit in a go cart?
hi, im designing a go-kart for my senior project but i hit a problem. I have a v6 from a lexus 430. but the transmission is way to big to incorporate into my design. Can anyone suggest some trannys that are smaller but can handle it? I work in an autobody and i fix car bodies, but i don't have much of a mechanical background. Can anyone please help me?
With 160 hp you only need one one gear. Loose the transmission and chain, sprocket and jack shaft from the engine to the drive wheel. Do the math with the max RPM of the engine and the diameter of the drive wheel to get the correct gearing needed for sat a 70 MPH top speed.
