sub-woofer goes nuts when i turn off my head unit?
i bought a Kenwood KAC-X401M 1200w mono amp. i have it connected to one 4ohm 12in. 2000w max pioneer premier sub. this is all connected to the regular stock stereo, it sounds great, but if i turn OFF the stereo while the car is on, my subs start going off like crazy (rumbling) until i turn the stereo back on.
this has happened to my friend before and we fixed the problem by fixing some crossed wires, i think that in this case, that is not the case. i have checked the wiring 3x and have not come up with any guesses. so what im asking, is there anything else that would be making this happen??
thank you in advance!!!
o yea i am also using one of those old school, adjustable line-level adapters tapping into the L&R rear speakers
a little bit more info, the way i have my remote wire hooked up is tapping into the remote wire on the HU.

Question: How are you "Switching" the amplifier on and off?
Are you using the Remote line from the radio to turn it on and off or are you hooking your remote line up to the fuse box on an accessory fues?
If you are using the remote line from the radio, this should turn the amp off when the radio is turned off. If this is how you are connected, check the amp while the radio is off and see if it is actually turning off. Check the voltage at the remote line to make sure it is 0 volts. If it is not, disconnect the remote line and check the voltage again at the amp's remote. If it still is not 0 volts, then there could be a problem with the amp or a bad ground. If it is now 0 volts, the amp should be off. If not, then something is wrong with the amp. If it is off, check the voltage on the remote wire coming from the radio. If it is reading a voltage with the radio off, then something is wrong with the radio.
IF, you are running a remote line to the fuse box, then even though you are turning off the radio, the amp is remaining on. This is not good for the amp. It is trying to amplify a signal that is not being produced properly from the radio. Therefore it is trying to amplify the noise floor. This is where your "rumble" is coming from.
Hope this helps.
