97 stratus hard start....fuel pump prob??
owned this car since 4 miles, now has 231000 ...mech put on gauge to "tree" while running it read 50, when shut off after about 5 minutes the gauge read 25...he told me I needed a new fuel pump, he said the pressure should never drop when engine is off, also he told me the only filter on this make was in the "tank"...I have done some research, and know there is an inline filter on top of the gas tank and the pressure should drop @ 5 per minute. Should I believe him??? Could this just be a replacement fuel filter fix???? The car is old, but well maintained..any info is most welcomed, TX
the only way is to replace the filter and nothing else... u have to find a new one now. the same problem occirs once wid my car.. i try to fix it up but once if it is disturbed than dont think it will be fine. get a replacement ..
