How durable are Ford Mustang Cobra engines?
I was thinking about getting a Super Duper Car since I have a 05 Mercedes I was thinking about getting me a really fast car that I can mod.
I read somewhere that the Ford Mustang Cobra's engines are extremely durable and can take close to 800-900HP in upgrades with the stock engine. I'm not going to go that high as far as HP goes, but I was thinking about perhaps a nice whipple supercharger or twin turbo in a Cobra?
Or what should I do as far as getting a durable car that can take a lot of engine upgrades?
you start with a nice car like a mustang cobra, find a good mechanic you trust, and have fun, the mustang small block is a strong durable well engineered car that can take a lot of modifications. however an engine is only as good as the engine builder, so if you want to make a fun bad to the bone mustang, pick a horsepower number as a target, bucause in all honesty, a mustang is light on the rear, and you go more than about 500 hp you can hit the gas in the rain and spin the car out at 55. 330 to 500 hp will be a blast to drive, if you build a 330 hp motor, add a turbo charger with an inter cooler you will have one super light butt kicking little ride, The more complicated you make the engine (like for example a twin turbo set up) (this is overkill, and a pain to tune and can get expensive in a hurry with one backfire. So do your research get good and familiar with what is availabe, www.fordracing.com has a lot of information, there are some boss heads available that can give that mustang a stick you in the seat all by itself feeling. good luck , have fun, and put the best tires you can find on that thing.
