Im looking into getting a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII and it currently has 88,000 miles on it. I know it depends on how the owner drives it and takes care of it. But what is the avg. miles you can get out of one of these cars? No accidents or adjustments to the car, completely stock. Can i get another say 4 or 5 years off the car?
Honestly im not quite sure, ive heard alot of good and bad about the Lancer, and well Mitsubishi in general.
Ive known people who thought they were excellent cars, but ive known others who have had problem after problem with their vehicles and have spent half the time in the shop just to fix issues.
Ive been looking into possibly purchasing one, probably an 03 Evo, though lack of a decent job and poor status of the economy has made that pretty much an impossible feat for now...
Anyways, what I can tell you is it depends on how you treat your vehicle that will also determine how long it lasts.
I drive a 96 Camry, its been mine since I lost my Jeep in Dec 06 and since then it has taken a large amount of abuse, off roading, it literally became a submarine one time, the list goes on but its still a good car, just has alot of issues now from all the abuse its taken from me.
Now had I taken better car of it, well it wouldnt be in such poor condition that it is in now.
Common sense, perhaps an experienced Lancer owner can really answer your question.
