I have been told before, because of the weight of my engine, that I have to take some things off to put it on the stand. I've actually heard that you have to do that with any engine when you put it on the stand. I seem to remember something about taking the valve covers and the heads off but I dont know for sure. Can anyone tell me exactly what I have to take off my engine to put it on the stand? By the way, I have a 1970 440 ci. Mopar motor.
Also, I plan on leaving the engine on there a while. I'm still refinishing my garage and doing work on the body of the 1970 Roadrunner it's going into so I won't be getting to it for a while. Is it still okay to have all that weight on there for that long period of time?
Remove everything that does not look like an engine. The rest is fine to put on a stand.
