What is the best insulator to keep a tube very cold?
I am trying to make a fake purge kit for my car. The reason I am not putting a real nitrous kit on my car is because it is too old an the motor will blow up if I do that. So, I figured the next best thing is to put a fake one on there. I am using a 3/8" high pressure (300 psi) tube. I need to know what will keep it as cold as it can be in my car and while going through the motor compartment.if someone knows a great insulator for a cheap price let me know.

I forgot to mention what I was using for the substitute gas. I am using CO2 as the alternate gas. Does anyone know if CO2 has to be under great amount of pressure to look like white smoke when released from the tube or is it a tempeture (hot outside it works an if cold it does not work) change that does that?
you COULD use some super-awesome fancy, cutting edge insulation that insulates better than anything known to man, but...
Seriously, most professionals use simple, everyday Styrofoam. It's cheap, easy to buy, easy to make or modify, and it works about 90% as effectively as the "top-of-the-line" stuff.
Honestly, it's what I would use in your situation. don't get the big-bubble stuff, get the kind you see those coolers made of. It's pretty easy to find for sale online.
Oh, and the CO2 effect, it's kinda like fog, you'll want lower pressures and temperatures near the dew-point of the air, so relatively cool.
