Integra turbo $ ??????????????????
What is the cheepest turbo kit i can get for a 1.8 liter non-vtech integra? I already have new AEM cold air-intake and a full catback exhaust system. Looking for an increase of 100 hp. Thankyou
Your intake and exhaust have not increased your horsepower at all.
If you have had it dynoed, you would have seen that.
Secondly, the cheapest, will not be the best. Or the most reliable. Or put out the most power.
It will be cheap. It will not last long. it will not get you good gains.
For a good turbo kit, look at around 3500-4000, for all the parts that you need just for the kit. Throw in another 2-3000 for rods, pistons, etc. Another grand or so for an EMS, etc.
As a small engine, you're looking at around 10 horsepower per psi. So, you need to run at least 10 psi, for 100 horsepower. That takes a lot more than just slapping a turbo kit on a car. And as it's already been told to you in a previous question, don't expect to see 100 horsepower. Maybe 40-50. With all the other proper mods, maybe up to 75.
That aside: you want torque. TORQUE is what moves your vehicle. Horsepower is just an imaginary unit, made by multiplying torque by a number, then dividing it. It is a totally USELESS unit. It's only sort of useful, for bragging, but seeing as it doesn't say anything about how fast your car is, or how well you drive it....it's pointless.
