VW Passat Turbo?
I have a 2002 Volkswagen Passat with a 1.8T engine. I know that the T stands for turbo and that turbos kick in at a certain RPM. Does anyone know what RPM the turbo on an '02 Passat with a 4-Cylinder 1.8T engine kicks in?
The 1.8 T turbo does not kick in, it spins and generates boost right from idle, the higher the RPM the higher the boost, up to a point. The turbo in this application is designed to increase low end torque rather than maximum horsepower.
