have an 84 Chevy K20 LWB with a 4' lift and 35' tires. I want a little bit of both worlds with HP and Torque. Got the truck with the engine freshly rebuilt already and just wanted some advice and ideas to get it going a little better. Specs on engine are:
1970 Chevy 4 bolt main 400 cubic inch 509 Casting
Bored .030 over (makes it a 406 cubic inch)
Flat Top pistons 9.5 to 1 compression ratio
Comp Cams Magnum camshaft (270 H)

GM performance parts valve covers
Carter high volume fuel pump
Hedman Ceramic coated headers
I use the truck for daily driver and mudding as well. I like to have some speed of the line if possible just for fun. Just looking for any ideas to improve the engine.
A bigger carb will help in both the HP and TQ department. Also factory heads are pretty much junk except for vortec heads. Any of the aftermarket heads will give a large improvement in power over factory castings.
