How long do you think my camaro will last?
Info: 1994 z28 5.7L 145,*** miles
Mods: Tuned suspension(lowered 2 inches), Cold air intake, Performance muffler and straight pipe.
Replaced: Spark plugs, cap distributor, coil, water pump, belt, flushed tranny and radiator.
And: No leaks. No problems(anymore lol). I get pinned straight to my seat when I pedal to the floor. I do baby drive it though.
How much longer you think it would last???
no rust.
rust has nothing to do with how long the car will last if your refering to how long it will run and drive. On the good side you have a V8 (v8s usually last longer because of the added cylinders the wear is distributed over a larger area), its rear wheel drive (cheaper to fix and STILL more reliable then trans axles)
On the bad side its a 94. Its bad because since the late 70's early 80's most cars were using more glues adhesives and sythetic materials which degrade over time. If your Camaro was lets say the Camaro year of choice 69 I wouldnt have any doubt that if you can watch your hot rodding and rpms it should last a good 50 years and couple hundred thousand miles. So what you need to look out for is the fact that your car has thinner steel then the muscle era camaro BUT you do have a upgraded V8 that will last longer. Although your electronics would be lucky to last 15 years since electronics are very sensitive to heat cold and vibrations your motor will more then likely last longer then the rest of the car. I have owned 13 classic cars (54-59 model years) and the only cars I have a constant trouble to keep running are my NEWER electronic cars such as my 97 Buick. If you want it to last pre electronic is what you should aim for. Cheers
