Performance Supercharger Sale

Performance Supercharger Sale
scion tc: boost or blow?

got a few bucks and ready to go forced induction. i have an 05 scion tc, not sure if i should go turbo or supercharger. the cheapest TRD charger kit i found was on Toyota Sparks.com on sale from $2200 to a price yet to be announced.

i am also looking at getting an inexpensive turbo kit, possible the dezod s1 kit if funds provide. if not, something very basic.

either way, i will be running less than 10psi until i get some engine work done. will also get it professionally tuned by a local performance shop.

im just trying to figure whats gonna get me the most bang for the buck.
im looking to get more power than what an I/H/E will do
plus nothing can beat the sound of a bov

rule #1: don't ever listen to 12pleze on stuff like this. he's 99% wrong.
rule #2: turbocharger will always be more expensive, but you do get what you pay for.
rule #3: when going f/i, make sure to have a back up plan just in case your car craps out on you/needs repairs/whatever, and make sure to have a just in case $ fund!

okay, the most bang for your buck will be a turbocharger. dezod kit is very reliable, but going f/i on any n/a engine will have consequences on your engine. sure, it'll boost up your hp and torque by over 100, but the added pressure will add strain on the engine, thus it can reduce the life of your engine. it can also (if not set up/tuned properly/taken care of) blow up your engine. just wanted you to be aware of the risks you are taking when going turbo. to my knowledge, the best kits out there for your money are turbotoyotas and dezod. there are some new kits going to be released soon, but i don't know much about those. 10psi is the most you can run without having the engine become damaged, but make sure its with a good tune. turbocharger will most definitely get you the most bang for your buck, because with the dezod/turbotoyotas kit you'll be in the 300hp range, thus being able to keep up with the STi's and Evos.

before going turbo, you should definitely do a bit of research of turbos so you know how they work and how to fix them if anything goes wrong.

and while it is true you need to get other parts, it will not put you in the $10,000 range or above, like 12pleze is stating. truthfully, with a tune and some upgraded parts (clutch, exhaust, gauges) it'll be around 6 - 7k. those would be the necessary ones for hte 8 - 10psi range. after that, you'll need to reinforce the engine to go pats 10 psi.
