i have set my new hd to 1081i, but should it be native, crop, stretch or pillar? should there be black bars?
As for the black bars that's personal. I use the black bars left and right because I hate looking at a distorted piccture.
Now for the TV. Usually youcannot change the resolution of the TV. Maybe something new or weird is out there so im covering my bases. What you usually change resolution on is the source. My directv is always set to 1080i. I have a 720p set but for some reason I like the image better that way. It probably is because the scaler in the box is cheap compared to my tv and since most hd programs are 1080i I let my tv do the work. For the standard def channels I leave it on pillar because of what i said before. My wife and I actually agree on this one.
