What would cause the shifter to shakes when in gear on a 2005 Pontiac Wave?
The car is standard and the gear shifter wobbles around when driving, it shakes by it self. The car is only 5 years old and has rust already how is that possible?
To Bart: I have a 1995 Neon it has no rust, and the stick shift doesn't wobble either.
Assuming it is front wheel drive. Various things. An ignition miss or other engine miss. A bad CV joint. Bad motor mounts. Could even be out of balance tires. You could try a hill...get up to speed and let off the gas...see if it still wobbles. If so you may have a bad CV joint or tires.
