Fake Antivirus Aftermath? Please help.?
So, everyone knows about fake anti-virus pop-ups that say you're PC is infected and needs to be scanned and then needs the full programme to be purchased to purge it of a bazillion fake viruses.
Well normally I handle them very well and quickly use task manager to get rid of them, use system restore, run Malware Bytes and AVG and CCleaner and everything is fine. This time the anti-virus was given time to pop up as I wasn't watching the computer and though it was harder I did everything I usually do and got rid of it.
However, now I have random internet pages popping up when I log onto the PC. Windows tells me its a dangerous address and I go to my homepage instead. Does anyone know how to get rid of these pop-ups? Has a virus lodged itself into my computer? I've now downloaded SUPERAntispyware and have gotten rid of a torjan leftover from the Malware Bytes and AVG scans but the pop-ups still persist to arrise at random points with no particular time structure..
#1 Don't ever restore your PC to an earlier time when you have an infection like this.
#2 Update Malwarebytes' and then re-start your PC in Safe Mode and run a complete scan
# 3 Go to http://www.bleepingcomputer.com ,find that program in the Uninstall List and see if there are any other removal instructions.
