I wanted to know what racing chip to adapt to my 1997 eclipse rs ECU so it could take off the governor limits such as the top speed limit and the RPM limit, and where could i find it?
The engine you have in there (420A) is the biggest pile of garbage ever. Don't invest your hard earned money into something that is such a mechanical nightmare like the 420A.
Believe me, I would know from first hand experience. I used to own a 1999 Eclipse GS 10th Anniversary Edition...it had the 420A in it too and it was a pile. I even keep great care of the car but it never ceased to amaze me that some stupid mechanical problem would pop up....one right after the other.
Save yout money for an engine swap. Get enough funds together and then buy yourself a 1st generation (89-94) 4g63. Stay away from the 2nd generation (95-99) 4g63, they had major issues with crankwalk. You will be much happier with the engine swap and it will be much more reliable than the worthless 420A.
