I find that when I look at something that has a geometric pattern (such as vinyl flooring) or a mosaic on a wall that it sends my mind racing and I cant stop trying to find patterns in what I am looking at to the point it almost makes me sick. Any idea what this could be? I feel like I am losing my mind. I have a problem with numbers and figuring problems out to where my mind sometimes wont shut off "working" things over in my head. I am not a math expert by any means I am only decent at it. I just have a hard time turning it off. Its the strangest thing. Any ideas?
It sound like OCD-Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I know that it can cause anxiety. If it is really troubling you or interfering or disruptive to your daily routine, I would suggest discussing with your physician or request a referral to a psychiatrist for a prescription that can help you fairly quickly.
