What is a good power supply for my computer?
Here's what I'm putting together:
1 Hard Drive 320 GB 7200 RPM 16 MB Cache (Western Digital)
1 CD/DVD combo
AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Black Edition Processor

Your setup doesn't use much power. You can run that config on a good-quality 350W PSU, because your graphics card draws less than 75 watts of power.
Notice that 8600GT does not even have a 6-pin PCIe power connector. Only video cards that draw more than 75 watts of electrical power are required to have the 6-pin.
Also, you realize that Gigabyte 790X board is an ATI Crossfire motherboard, right? http://www.gigabyte.us/Products/Motherboard/Products_Spec.aspx?ProductID=3031 You will NOT be able to run two nVidia video cards on it in SLI, so you can forget about adding a second 8600GT if that's what you are planning to do.
To run two video cards on a Crossfire motherboard, you need two ATI video cards with the same GPU.
