I Have a 1997 SOHC dodge neon, with a short ram air intake, pacesetter headers, and dual exhaust muffler and I'm still having trouble with acceleration. I ran a engine cleaner through and I'm not sure if it's sludge, but it could be the fuel to air ratio. Added note, my oil pan is covered in oil, although no dripage, and there's some oil in my spark plug. Any thoughts on what it might be, I mean I'm getting really poor acceleration although my top speed is ok over 110mph. I have to floor the car completely if I want it to go all out, like really hard. Most of the time when I drive my foots on there pushing it pretty far vs. say my moms 06 civic which only requires a tap of the accelerator. Any thoughts?
Neon's Trans is built for fuel economy, not acceleration.
