How to take of a cat on an exhaust?
I have a 2007 subaru sti and i wanted to know how to take off the cat on the exhaust? I was also curious if the cat is in the muffler or exhaust and what it actually does? I was also wondering if i ripped out all of the inside and had 2 racing seats and a roll cage like a rally car if that would increase the performance because of lost weight. Sorry for all the questions i dont know to much.
If I use straight pipes I will put the muffler on before the test and i live next to GAS so i won't touch my exhaust untill I know what to do.
First of all if you just remove the cats, you will likely experience over boost and blow the engine at some point, You need some kind of engine management to run catless. And a roll cage and harness are not exactly the safest for daily driving. If it's a track car then by all means find a shop to put one in for you. Reducing weight after all is like free horse power.
