What is the stock rear end and axle on a 1995 Z28 as well as the 1998-2002 Z28 and SS Camaros?
like how many bolts? and everything and how much horsepower and Torque can a stock 1995 Z28 Rear end Handle atleast 500HP and equal or more Ft Lbs of Torque? i got a 1995 Z28 and im adding power the the LT1 such as Long Tubes LT4 Conversion Kit,Ram Air Intake with Ram Air Hood,3inch True Dual or Single Full Exaust this car is my daily driver and Race Ready im probably gonna beef up the Tranny as well Probably a Stall Converter after all its the 4L60E Tranny which ive been told has to be strengthened to handle 350 or HP i just wanna make sure my rear axle won't bust on just a tap of the Pedal?
A stock 95 Z28 rear end will handle 500hp, but the clutch packs might not lol. Ok So this is really my specialty, I work for Hutter Performance a shop located outta North Eastern Ohio we work primarily on Fbody's and LSX cars. So your car is stock now? The first this I suggest doing to your car is swapping out the rear gears get rid of that old Nasty 3.23 and throw a 4.10 ring and pinon kit in there. In my 95 Trans Am completely stock minus a flowmaster Catback i was running 14.0-14.1 in the 1/4mile with stock rear gear swapped them out for a 4.10 I saw no change in gas mileage and I still hit 155mph lol I dropped 2 tenths of a second with just a gear change I was running consistant 13.70-13.80's mind you im in a 6 speed.
Next off screw the LT4 conversion....There is much better combinations out there, TTrick flowheads with a Comp Cam and Eldebrock Intake Manifold, Eldebrock/Holly 58MM Throttle Body, an SLP CAI and flowmaster catback and your looking at easily 400-450hp plenty of street power.
The stall Converter an Amazing Idea lol.
If you really want advice on your Fbody look up hutterracing.com give us a call sometime ask for Trevor we are more the willing to anwser all your questions
