Hydraulic clutch system is building up pressure.?
I just had the clutch changed in my 93 Dodge Stealth. The parts replaced were the clutch disc, pressure plate, flywheel, master cylinder, and slave cylinder. Now, whenever I drive it for more than half an hour, the pedal seems to be building up pressure and the clutch begins to slip. I immediately pull over and allow the pressure to subside. I have narrowed the problem down to the hydraulic system. Whenever it builds up pressure, I open the bleeder valve on the slave cylinder and fluid squirts our (without even having the clutch pedal pushed in). I am fairly sure it is not air because I have bled it several times with another person. What could be the problem?
Clutch master cylinder is faulty and not releasing the pressure when in the "static" position.
It may be misadjusted for pedal free play.
The rod between the clutch pedal, and the master cylinder needs to have a little some play when the pedal is NOT being pushed down.so that the relief valve will activate.
Make sure that the pedal has about one inch of "free play" before the master cylinder activates.
