2001, auto, 4.0 L straight six, fuel injected. NEVER any problems up to now. 6 year old factory battery died, understandable. It was replaced. Now engine will turn over but will not start. Strangely, the fuel and voltmeter gauges are dead with the ignition key in the "on" position. Don't know if other instrument panel gauges work or not since it won't start. All other electrical accessories work and there is a full tank of gas. No fuses blown under the hood or in the dash. I'm told there is no fuel pump reset switch that is "user accessible". Don't know how to troubleshoot the fuel pump relay. Anyone have any ideas???
Where is the crank sensor? I was told this is a common problem with the crankshaft position sensor.
Bad alternator or not, the fresh battery is turning the engine over normally, just not firing!
Pull the wires off the crank sensor, put them back and try again.........
