have a 1971 raleigh grand prix 10speed bike?
never owned a 10 speed ,but i bought one and am endevoring to make it over to run new. paint job worked great /now the mechanics /all new to me. / i have a front 27 by 1 1/4 rigida rusting rim. this made in france. craiglist selling a 27 by 1 1/4 alloy rim marked raleigh,think made in japan. old one steel this i think is lightweight the alloy one,but picture has 2 nuts on shaft,no quick release.what should i pay for the alloy made in japan,raleigh rimand hub,and can i somehow put my quick release from rusted rim on it. i think the front hub is marked normandy,cant tell about the hub on rim i want to buy.any advise appreciated.
obviously this bike is way outdated and wouldnt really be worth putting any real money into unless it is your passion to do so. Your money would be better spent on something- anything less than 10 years old and not in such need of repair!
