Subaru Saleen Charger

Which car is the best at speed, reliabilty, gas, price & handling?

Lotus Elise
Lotus Exige
Subaru Impreza
Pontiac GTO
Nissan 350z
Saleen
Ford Mustang
Dodge Charger
Chevy Corvette

Handling: Either Lotus will top the list. The Impreza is AWD so that will help in low-traction conditions and with some suspension modifications they can handle well in higher traction conditions. In the RWD category, the Z is solid, but there is a reason why so many Corvettes are regularly seen flying across the tarmac at my local auto-x. Corvettes are low, wide, and have a huge contact patch at each corner which makes them a great handling car. That is if you can learn enough self-control to modulate the throttle properly.

Speed:
Accelleration: Corvette and GTO are both solid performers. The Saleen is good as well and the Mustang and Chargers are no slouch either
Top Speed: Unless you are at a track with long straights this doesn't make much difference.

Reliability: Subaru makes a great car, don't know how the Lotus cars fair. Haven't heard anything bad about the Pontiac or the Chevy either. I'm not a big Ford fan, however.

Fuel: I imagine that the Elise and Exige both get decent MPG as they are extremely light and are powered by 4 cylinder engines. The Impreza is also powered by a 4 so its fuel economy is good, depending on which trim level you purchase and how you drive it.

Price: The bargain of the list is the Impreza while the other end of the price spectrum is occupied by the Lotus cars and the Corvette. For the over-all performance, the GTO is a great deal, so is the WRX version of the Impreza.
