Which Grand Prix should I choose?
Just purchased a 98 Grand Prix that has almost 100k miles on it. Surprised me a bit with how much I liked it. I like the car so much I want to buy a newer one with lower miles. I like the body style of the version I have, but know someone who has an aftermarket pulley for the supercharger on a 2005 version and would give it to me for free, I think the newer body style is alright to so not really worried about the way it looks exterior wise. Which model of the Grand Prix is better the 97 to 2003 or the 2004 to 2008? I know they were pretty similar, and I'm only looking at the GTP sedans. Like the Comp G but not sure if its worth looking for one since they are kinda rare.
Thanks
Since you are interested in only the GTP models, I assume it's because you have the "need for speed." I also share this splendid sickness. You are better off getting as new a car as possible. The 2004 and newer supercharged 3800 models are slightly faster (20 more HP and Series 3 vs. Series 2 engine) than the previous supercharged 97-03 models. Keep in mind that Pontiac badged the newer Grand Prixs with GTP (and GTP Comp G) in 04 and 05, the 06 and 07 supercharged models are badged as GT and I don't believe they produced a supercharged 08 model at all (they ended up blending in the GXP model slowly over the last few years as the "top" model offered). Hope this helps in your decision making process.
