Should I have my supercharger rebuilt, or buy a new one?
Hi guys, So I'm going to buy a Kraftwerks supercharger kit for my Honda Fit. I'm getting a good deal on a complete kit. However, the reason the price is so good is because the Rotrex supercharger unit is seized. Apparently something hit the rotrex oil filter while driving on the freeway and all the oil leaked out. So my question is would it be a good idea to get the Rotrex unit repaired($679) or buy a brand new Rotrex unit($2100). I'm a poor college student so cost is an issue, which makes the rebuild sound a lot better. However my car is my daily driver, so my car needs to be reliable. So if anyone with adequate knowledge about superchargers and turbochargers can tell me if it would be a better to buy new or have it rebuilt, with long term reliability in consideration. Thanks!
