Our school is going economically friendly.
An issue we're trying to fight right now is the separation of lunch trash. We separate (into large trash cans of diff. color) lunch trash from food, plastic (forks, plates), bottles (milk bottles), but we have trouble getting the students to cooperate even when we have someone guarding the trash disposals. *they do it in spite*
We're trying to figure out a way that the students would be able to subliminally be forced to separate their trash and follow economocology guidelines.
Why are you using disposables at all? It seems like the best way to eliminate trash waste would be to use reusable dishes. That uses more water because they have to be washed, but eliminates a lot of garbage waste.
As for kids, if they are being rebellious and resisting the changes, they'll find a way to thwart any new rules that are made. The best thing to do is not to stress about it.
