How do I "burp" the coolant system of any air in a '95 Mazda B2300 2.3L 4 cyl. automatic transmission pickup?
I'm flushing out the coolant system using a prestone flush 'n fill kit. Just need to know how to get any air out so I don't burn out the motor. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
after you've drained the water out of your radiator and engine block,
you refill them with a 50/50 mix of water/antifreeze as best that you can.
next, take off the radiator cap and start the engine.
the coolant level will slowly rise up and overflow onto the ground - DON'T put the cap on, yet
when the engine warms up enough (about 15 min.maybe longer) the thermostat will open up and the coolant level will drop suddenly. At this point the air that's trapped in the cooling system is escaping to the radiator.
add more coolant into the radiator until it's completely full.
now put the radiator cap back on the radiator.
shut the engine off and refill the overflow tank. finished.
