hi, i have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 pickup with 3.9 v6. recently the truck started "dragging" when you stop and start to go. you know how normally a car will move forward when your shift it to drive even with no gas, my truck doesn't do that ! it works fine in reverse. the check engine light came on and i ran the code it came back as the throttle position sensor, i bought it at advance auto but the sensor was not working. they say i can't get a refund because it's been "used". it was completely different from the original, but anyways, the transmission was rebuild about 9 months ago, everything was working fine. i can feel it jerking when i come to a complete stop. when i start to go i have to give it alot of gas in order for it to move and the shifting point is different too. do you think the tps can cause this ? please help
No it's OBD II I would say sticking emergency brake, OBD II units will go into base run mode the throttle position sensor is for detecting where the pedal is and when to shift and works in conjunction with other Components, But ask Dodgeman here on Yahoo answers he's tops on dodge. The transmission could be defective but not necessarily
