A question for nissan 240sx lovers =]?
Should i stick with the KA24DE and turbo it? or should i swap with a sr20det engine?
I am kinda skeptical
because lots of people like the sr20det
like honda lovers love the gsr engine
from my knowledge
the sr is 2.0 liter!
ka is 2.4...(obvious specs)
but yea
you think i should get the sr20det?
or turboing the ka because the torque is there?
and also...
for a t25 turbo for that ka...which is a base turbo
do i need a new fuel pump? turbo timer? boost controller?
The sr is functionally a better motor. the ka is single cam and has issues with the timing chain tensioners failing. You can find a turbo sr20 front cut with mods for less than a full turbo kit. If you want to turbo the ka you will need bigger injectors, fuel pump and a boost controller. Turbo timer optional but recommended. Also consider a plug and play ecu. Sport compact car ran a technical section about 6 months ago that was nothing but 20 pages of 240sx parts. See if you can find the back issue.
